Frances Black

Frances has been the lead producer of eight original plays off-off Broadway and co-produced one show on Broadway as Founder and Producer of Frances Black Projects. A Toronto native, Frances attended University of Kings College in Halifax (Hons. B.A) and Yale School of Drama (M.F.A Theatre Management). Joined 2010

William J Candee IV, Chair

Attorney (Princeton University and Chicago Law School) Bill joined the board, following in his father’s footsteps. Bill has been the Board Chair since 2010 and the Candee family has championed ITNY since its founding in 1984. Joined 2012

Craig Cichy, Treasurer

Executive Director of the Social Impact Fund, the leading fiscal sponsor organization for philanthropic activities rooted in the entertainment and creative communities. Craig often cites his career being divided into two halves, the first half managing dozens of special events in the sports/recreation industry, and later managing philanthropic activities for an iconic consumer brand, as well as for publicly-recognized individuals. Jessica Betts Dreyfuss

First Vice President, COO CP Sports at Chelsea Piers. Jessie attended The Ethical Culture and Fieldston Schools before studying Biology at Yale. She also received her M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 2006. Jessie also serves as Chair of the Chelsea Piers Foundation and Board Member of the First Tee of Metropolitan New York. Joined 2008

Violet Eagan

Retired Figure Skating Coach, Pilates and Gyrotonics Instructor. Violet joined the board in 2005 and she has been a supporter of the Company since the late 1980’s. Violet also serves as a member of the Board of Barrington Stage and is a supporter of the NY Philharmonic with a focus on the Youth Orchestra. Joined 2005

Kristin Egan

Kristin Egan began her career as a competitive figure skater, but when a broken hip smashed her Olympic dreams, she went into business instead. Over the last 20 years, Kristin has launched companies in real estate development, tech, and media, and was the driving force behind industry-leading ice rink projects in Australia and NYC. Over the last few years, Kristin has transitioned into editorial & education. She founded Polymath Media, which operates several publishing and business education ventures. Kristin also works as a Thesis Advisor for Harvard’s Executive Real Estate Program, where she serves as Treasurer on the Alumni Board of Directors, and founded the program’s first ever fellowship to provide tuition assistance to executives working in the public and nonprofit sectors of real estate. Mary Gaillard

Retired actuary. Mary joined the board in 1984 at the inception of the Company. Her financial advice through the years has been invaluable. Mary was an avid recreational ice dancer till only a couple of years ago. Joined 1984

Victorio Gallo

Victorio joined the board in 2023. He is a homemaker with two young boys, who are enthusiastic skaters. Some projects Victorio was involved in included AIDS Walk, Campaign for Child Immunization, San Jose Symphony, and the Tech Museum of Innovation. Joined 2023

Douglas Haw

Figure Skating Coach. Doug Haw is internationally renowned in the competitive skating and frequent presenter at National seminars. Additionally, he has been an influential coach in professional figure skating competitions and shows. His insights and connections to industry leaders are a huge benefit to the Company. Joined 2012

Emily Hughes

Emily Hughes represented Team USA at the 2006 Olympic Games in figure skating. After her skating career, Emily graduated from Harvard, and she has spent the last decade working at leading companies such as Deloitte, Google, Johnson and Johnson, and Meta. She recently joined the sports startup Grandstand. Emily started her involvement with ITNY when she performed with us as a young apprentice at age 6. Joined 2024

Cara Erdheim Kilgallen

Cara is a creator of stories and a connector of people, an academic, a college professor of English, an author, and an avid athlete; she is a lifelong figure skater, tennis player, and golfer. She writes, teaches, and researches a wide array of topics and themes about which she is passionate: athletics; disability; the environment; food/hunger; humor; and spirituality. Her academic and public-facing writing focuses on comedy, humor, American literary naturalism, and higher education. Her personal and creative writings relate more to motherhood, family, and her passion for sports. Joined 2024

David Mellins, Secretary

David is a scholar of Buddhism, Indian Philosophy and Sanskrit Poetics. He received his PhD from Columbia University and has taught at Columbia, Rutgers and Yale Universities. Like his late father, who previously served on the Board, David is a recreational skater. Joined 2017

Alicia Hall Moran

Alicia is a mezzo-soprano and award-winning conceptual vocal artist who creates performances that link Opera, Theatre, Literature, Visual Art, Social critique, Jazz, and to her delight: ice skating. As a vocalist, she can currently be heard in the feature film “She Came To Me,” and in the art film “Breakdown” now showing at The Smithsonian Museum of American Art. Her diverse projects include two critically acclaimed albums, touring shows like “The Motown Project” and her ode to figure skating, called “Cold Blooded,” and a short opera “Chantal” she composed with her husband for Washington National Opera. As an educator, Alicia was named Inaugural Chamber Music Artist in Residence at the Frost School of Music in 2021 and is a former Creative Associate at The Juilliard School. Before starring as Bess on the celebrated 20-city American tour, Alicia made her Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess,” and has since enjoyed singing concerts with symphonies and great soloists around the world. Moira North, President of ITNY

Founder/Artistic Director. Since founding ITNY in 1984, she has commissioned renowned dance choreographers to make new works for the company while nurturing and developing choreographers from the world of ice. She has also been a catalyst in the development of other artistic ice dance companies in both Canada and the United States. Joined 1984

Lisa Renda

With her husband she founded BPA Quality nearly 30 years ago in the UK. BPA Quality specializes in analyzing interactions between customers and organizations that operate large global contact centers. Lisa is a skating enthusiast, and she has a particular interest in our junior ensemble, which her daughter is a member of. Joined 2022

Betty Wasserman, Vice Chair

Interior Designer. She joined the board in 2016, after discovering the Company through her daughter’s involvement in skating. Betty has been a huge champion of the Junior Ensemble to give young skaters opportunities to perform with the company and choreograph for their peers. Joined 2016
